Joly Herman

Associate Director of Marketing
“Moving at the pace of the life sciences industry– while maintaining the highest standards of my profession–is a challenge that I’m excited to embrace. I’m honored to align with such an innovative, inclusive, and visionary team.”

  • A writer who pairs an artistic background with freelance pragmatism, Joly has been working professionally in the media industry since 1998.

  • Joly has worked as a television, movie, and book reviewer for Common Sense Media, a non-profit organization “dedicated to improving kids’ media lives,” since its inception. Her reviews have been published by The Washington Post, Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, Fandango, Vudu, among others. Joly served as head writer for Chevron’s educational website, creating compelling content for kids age 8 to 12 on a weekly basis. She wrote feature articles for Media Magazine and interviewed leaders of the media industry for their “People Profile” column.

  • Joly co-owned and operated a successful turn-key business in the integrative health care industry in San Francisco, which she and her partner sold for profit in a bear market. Later, recognizing a niche market in need of representation, she founded Solo Parent Magazine. The online magazine features hundreds of articles written by professionals, as well as a podcast.

  • In 2017, Joly began using her entrepreneurial and media expertise to provide small business owners answers to big media questions. She strives to make connecting with audiences and clients a positive, profitable possibility for businesses large and small.
